The Survey Findings
May 2009 - June 2010
- 2,433 Virginians took the survey. You can take the survey here.
- 13% of respondents use tobacco products.
- 49% of respondents were youth under 18 years old.
Survey findings show that the packaging and flavoring of new smokeless and spitless tobacco products often misled both youth and adults to think that they were candy, gum, or mints.

- Among youth under 18 years old who currently do not use tobacco products, 18% said they would try Camel Snus Mellow, 28% said they would try Camel Orbs Fresh, and 19% said they would try Stonewall Natural Dissolvable Tobacco based on packing alone.
